TEXT file I/O preferences allow you to specify how text is imported into or exported from a data window.
Step 1
Choose TEXT File I/O from the Preferences submenu (Options menu).
Step 2
In the dialog that appears, click the Import TEXT button to set preferences for importing TEXT files into the data window.
• Click the Export TEXT button to set preferences for exporting data in TEXT format.
Step 3
Choose one delimiter character for columns and one for rows using the menus under the Delimiters heading.
• If you don’t see the desired delimiter, choose Other ASCII from the menu, enter the desired character in the dialog that appears, then click OK.
Step 4
Under the Filters heading, turn on any check box to filter the specified item when you import text into a data window.
Step 5
Under the Options heading, turn the Load First Row Into Column Titles check box on or off.
• If exporting, turn the Export Column Titles Into First Row check box on or off to export column titles as the first row of text.
Step 6
Turn the Transpose Rows with Columns check box on or off to import or export row text as columns and column text as rows.
Step 7
Click OK to exit the dialog.
These settings are saved in the CA-Cricket Graph III Prefs file in your System folder. If you’re using System 7, the file is saved in the Preferences folder in your System folder. Preferences are used for all TEXT files you import or export until you change them.
